1. Who we are
Channel is a social app for discovering events and sharing what you are up to with friends. It is operated by Kieran Gillen, Berlin, Germany (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Channel.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give us accurate information and one account per person.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your profile and content and cannot be undone.
3. Your content
You own what you post: events, messages, comments, and images. By posting, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute that content within Channel so the app can work, for as long as it is on the service. Your visibility settings control who can see it.
You are responsible for your content. Only post things you have the right to share.
4. Community rules
Do not use Channel to:
- Harass, threaten, or bully anyone, or post hateful content.
- Post sexual content involving minors, or share intimate images of anyone without consent.
- Promote violence, self-harm, or illegal activity.
- Send spam, scams, or misleading events.
- Impersonate other people or organisations.
- Post content you do not have the right to share.
- Scrape the service, interfere with it, or try to access other users’ accounts or data.
You can report posts, events, and people from inside the app and block anyone. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, at our discretion and without notice.
5. Events and tickets
Events are created by users, not by us. We do not verify events and are not responsible for whether they happen as described. Tickets issued through Channel are currently free of charge and are provided as-is; an event organiser may cancel or change an event at any time.
6. Beta software
Channel is early software. Features may change or be removed, and the service may be interrupted or contain bugs. We may also reset test data. Please do not rely on Channel as the only copy of anything important.
7. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for losses arising from user content, events, or your interactions with other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health.
8. Changes and termination
We may update these terms. If the changes are significant we will let you know in the app. Continuing to use Channel after a change means you accept the new terms. You can stop using Channel and delete your account at any time.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence still apply.
