When you use our app, we collect the following information:
- Account information: name, email address, username, and optionally your phone number when you create an account.
- Location data: your selected city, which is used to show you relevant events and activity in your area. We do not track your precise GPS location.
- Content you create: events, messages, comments, reactions, and images you upload.
- Contacts: if you choose to sync your contacts, we use phone numbers to help you find friends already on the app. Contact data is not stored on our servers after matching.
- Device and diagnostics: a push notification token for your device (if you allow notifications) and crash reports, which include the app version, device model, OS version, and what the app was doing when it crashed. Crash reports are tied to your user ID, not your email.
- Usage data: basic app interaction data to improve the experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app experience
- To show you events and activity relevant to your city
- To connect you with friends
- To send you notifications about activity from your friends
- To improve and develop new features
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following cases:
- With other users: your name, username, and content you create are visible to friends or the public depending on your visibility settings.
- Service providers: we use third-party services for hosting (Render), image storage (AWS), location search (Google Maps), push notifications (Expo), transactional email such as password resets (Resend), and crash reporting (Sentry). These providers only access data necessary to provide their services.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Render and AWS. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit. Authentication is handled via session-based auth with secure cookie storage on your device.
5. Your Rights
You can:
- Update or correct your profile information at any time
- Delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, posts, events, comments, and tickets and revokes your sessions.
- Block other users, and report content or people that break our rules
- Control who sees your content through visibility settings (public, friends, close friends)
6. Children
Our app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app.
